The Caribbean Export Development Agency is the Caribbean regional institution with the remit to support private sector development through export and steer foreign direct investment to the Region. Deodat, a national of Trinidad and Tobago, currently serves as the executive director of the agency. He previously served as Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth, where he spearheaded the trade and investment agenda. He also seved with the United Nations in senior roles in the field and at headquarters. He has extensive experience in international trade and investment in a career spanning 25 years.
