Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, fueled by technological advancements that define the current and future smart societies, can modernize local ecosystems and processes that allow for better planning, management and delivery of products and services. In response to the local development needs of Trinidad and Tobago, AI and Big Data can drive intelligent solutions to engage and connect citizens, the business community, IFIs and other stakeholders in sustainable interventions to address existing and emerging challenges including assisting the public transportation sector to predict passenger volumes as precisely as possible and deliver a more efficient and cost-effective service while reducing congestion; smarter local government management solutions combining AI technology with real-time analytics to optimize waste collection, pick-up frequencies and other local community services; noise management solutions; and real time, informed social interventions regarding citizens, geographical location, their economic and social conditions.

Importantly, it embraces the vision, principles and priorities of the SG’s Data Strategy 2020-22, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Goal 11 to make “cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable” and inclusive digital transformation. The third edition of the Forum launches key technology-driven innovations arising from the first two editions; and examines the integration of Big Data and AI into sustainable development practices along the path towards smarter society status. It explores the role of IFIs, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in transforming business and society; discusses how technologically leading countries can leverage AI, Robotics and Big Data experiences to support the readiness of Trinidad and Tobago to excel in the smarter future; and the opportunities for digitization, digitalization and emerging technologies as local game changers of the future. The 3rd Forum is proposed as a physical two-day event and exposition, September 12-13, 2023 with a mix of panel discussions, keynotes, and presentations.
